We would like to remind all residents of the proper use of our trash and recycling rooms. Recently, we have noticed several issues that affect cleanliness, convenience, and building costs.

Common Issues

Recycling Rooms

• Cardboard boxes are not always flattened, causing rooms to fill up quickly and limiting space for others.
• Non-recyclable items, including glass, are being placed in recycling rooms, which may result in additional charges to the building.
Trash Chute Rooms
• Oversized bags or large items are placed in the trash chute, sometimes causing clogs and backups.
• Recyclable materials are left in trash rooms instead of being taken to recycling rooms.
• Trash is sometimes disposed of without being placed in a bag.

Reminders and Guidelines

Recycling Rooms

• Please flatten all cardboard boxes before placing them in the recycling room.
• Recycling rooms are available on every floor except the 2nd floor. Residents on the 2nd floor may use the 1st or 3rd floor recycling rooms or the recycling dumpster in the loading dock.
• Only approved recyclable items, as indicated on posted recycling posters, may be placed in recycling rooms. Do not place glass or plastic bags in recycling rooms. Plastic bags can be recycled at most grocery stores. When in doubt, please do not place the item in the recycling room.

Trash Chute Rooms

• Always place trash in a securely tied bag before disposal.
• Use appropriately sized bags (recommended: 5–8 gallon bags).
• Items larger than 1.5 feet in any dimension (such as furniture, wood, mops, or brooms) must be taken to the dumpster room and placed in the appropriate bins.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our building clean and safe for everyone.
