Laundry Room Upgrade: What to Know & How to Get a Refund for Remaining Credit

Dear Residents, please read the information below to stay informed about this important transition.

What?

FMB Laundry will install new machines on Friday, April 10, introducing convenient mobile features. Residents will be able to use a smartphone app to monitor machine availability, track laundry cycles, make payments, request refunds, and more.

When?

The laundry room will be closed from April 6 through April 10. During this period, the previous service provider will handle the removal of old machines. We’ll also take this time to paint, make repairs, deep-clean, and prepare for the new machines’ arrival on Friday, April 10, when they will be installed, and the room will reopen for service.

What payment methods will be accepted?

Each washer and dryer will accept tap, swipe (magnetic stripe), and EMV chip cards (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Discover, and prepaid cards). Machines will also support Apple Pay, Google Pay, and the Clothesline mobile app.

What is the Clothesline Mobile app?

All washers and dryers will be configured to accept payments via the FMB Laundry Clothesline Mobile Payment app. The app will allow residents to pay at the machine with their smartphones.

The app also allows residents to monitor their laundry room and view machine availability, receive notifications when their load is complete, and report service issues.

The FMB Laundry Clothesline Mobile app is available for free download on both the App Store and Google Play.

What happens to the credit I have in my old laundry card?

Place your laundry card in an envelope and include your name, mailing address, the estimated remaining balance on the card, and a short note requesting a refund. The refund will be issued in cash or by check within approximately 7 business days after the company receives your card.

Recommendations:

• If you have credit on your laundry card, please use it before April 6.

• If you need to do laundry during the closure, you may use the South Building laundry room. Please bring coins or CSC Go app, as that facility uses a different provider than Scheffres.
